BTKF has been teaching Shaolin Kung Fu, Chen Tai Chi and Kung Fu and Games (Children) for over a year in Exeter and Mid-Devon. This is the first open day demonstration and competition. The afternoon is in three parts. The first hour contains a demo of some of our spectacular routines (choreographies) including some visually striking weapon weilding. The demo includes some partner scenes showing the martial arts in action, including semi-contact sparring and childrens wrestling. The second hour is the first competition! Children will compete in two categories - routines and wrestling and adults will compete in routines and sparring.
Tickets are available: Robert; Crediton Art Centre; Ashton's Cafe and The Record Shop in Crediton High Street. Only 80 so get booked in now. Cafe available at the event with Cream Teas, Cakes, Coffee. Juice, Fruit and Water. Profit from cafe will go to a charity.
Date and time are still being confirmed however we will be taking the stage for a 30 minute demonstration in Crediton Town Square. We will most likely be on after Crediton Youth Theatre on the Tuesday Evening (14th June). We will provide a high energy display of Shaolin Kung Fu, Weapons, Partner Choreographies and Figthing. See you there I hope!
11th December held the first seminar at Black Tiger Kung Fu at the Mint Methodist Church in Exeter. We went through the first ten movements of Staff Form Fuk Fu Kwan Yarn Kwan from the Praying Mantis Kung Fu syllabus. On Monday 29th November 2010 a Chen Style Tai Chi class begins at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton, Devon. Classes are also starting at the centre on Wednesday mornings too. In Exeter classes will be held on thursday evenings at the Phoenix Art Centre. These classes will be 'Chen masterclasses' open to beginners. This means that a beginner starts on the right road to the proper technique for beautiful, graceful and flowing Tai Chi, the kind of Tai Chi that will add to health and vigour for long term benefit. Advanced Tai Chi students and those who have studied other styles will benefit from the deep knowledge base of Chen Style Tai Chi, silk reeling energy, posture training and pushing hands.
As Black Tiger Kung Fu continues to grow students are progressing through the syllabus. Congratulations go to Tom and Ben the first students to receive their Orange Sash Grade. We are looking forward to Open Day in February where forms, push hands and sparring will be demonstrated showing the increases diversity of forms on show at BTKF.
