Robert has studied various martial arts including Long Fist Kung Fu, Hand of the Wind Kung Fu, Yang Style Tai Chi, Yi Chuan and Bagua Zhang and was awarded a black sash grading in Northern Severn Stars Praying Mantis Kung Fu in 2006. In 2010, Robert became a certified Chen Style Tai Chi Instructor under Master Liming Yue. In addition to Martial Arts Robert studies Qigong, Meditation and Life Coaching. He has also achieved diplomas in Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming as well as a Certificate in Personal Coaching. He frequently engages in professional development in Martial Arts, Qigong, and Coaching

Previously, Robert has worked as a youth project officer guiding many groups through indoor and outdoor games. This work involved team development and individual growth coaching. Participants were coached toward realising their own brilliance; gaining in confidence, listening, communication, and motor skills.

Robert teaches Chen Style Tai Chi and Praying Mantis Kung Fu and holds Kung Fu, Qigong and Meditation workshops for the NHS at Wonford House Hospital in Exeter. He also gives personal growth and performance coaching by arrangement on a one2one basis. Robert frequently organises and participates in martial arts demonstrations. He is also invited to teach classes for other Tai Chi schools in the local area.
